Part 3: Integrations - Does it Play Well With Other Tools?

Is your email marketing platform a team player or a lone wolf in your tech stack?

Effective email marketing doesn’t operate in isolation.

The best platforms integrate smoothly with your existing tools—be it a CRM software, payment systems, course platforms or social media.

Integration is one of THE most important checks that any existing business owner should do.

Can you work with programs that don’t integrate?

Yes - there are 3rd party platforms that connect different tools.

BUT… with 3rd party integrations there are more opportunities for things to go wrong.

Direct integrations work best.

Integration Considerations

CRM Compatibility: Sync customer data for personalized marketing.

E-commerce Integration: Automate key communications like order confirmations and shipping updates.

Payment Platforms: Integrating your email marketing tool with payment platforms like PayPal, Stripe, or Square can automate the confirmation and follow-up emails after a purchase.

Course Platforms: If you use course platforms like Teachable, Kajabi, or Thinkific, integration with your email marketing software can help you send targeted messages based on course enrollment, progress, or completion.

Membership Platforms: For businesses that run on membership models, using platforms like Heartbeat or Skool, email integration allows for automated renewal reminders, membership level-specific communications, and event notifications.

Social Media Tools: Coordinate and track the effectiveness of integrated marketing strategies.

Choose an email platform that integrates well with your other tools.

Not only will this simplify your workflow but also creates a more cohesive and responsive user experience.

Those things matter, but they are table stakes now. This is different. This is Gmail looking at how your subscribers actually behave when...

Most solopreneurs feel embarrassed about having a small list. They tell me, “I’ll take email seriously when I have more subscribers.” But here’s the truth: your small list is actually an advantage. When your list is small, you can: ✔️ Get to know your subscribers better✔️ Ask questions and actually read the replies✔️ Start segmenting early - without overwhelm✔️ Build real relationships that scale later I’ve seen small lists convert better than big ones - because the connections are warmer and...

When email previews first appeared in Gmail and Yahoo inboxes, most marketers ignored them. That gray line under the subject line? Just filler, right? Not anymore. Here’s What’s Really Happening Email Service Providers (ESPs) - like Kit, Mailchimp, and Active Campaign - will automatically grab the first line of your email if you don’t write a preview yourself. That’s why inboxes are full of: “View this email in your browser” “Unsubscribe here” Or a broken merge tag: “Hi [FNAME].” Email...
